The Renaissance Pleasure Faire is coming! From April 4th - May 17, every Saturday and Sunday from 10am - 7pm.
If you've never been to a Faire, then its hard to convey a sense of it. Most people when they go for the first time are overcome by the sheer number of things to see. It's like stepping back in time. There are ribbons and flags waving in the wind, the sound of bells, of lutes, of ocarinas in the air, the lilt of foreign accents, the smell of cooking foods, rat on a stick and gigantic turkey legs...flowers, the warmth of sun on your face and the wind in your hair. The setting aside, what differs more is the people. There are fair maidens walking around with their beautiful gowns and high, pointy hats. There are kings and faeries, jesters, and handsome young knights. People work at faire to have fun, to entertain; they want to socialize. If you're willing to play with them, they're happy to banter with you. Last year Ric was approached by one of the wenches there and she begged he feel her melons!
Actually they were cantalopes, and yes, he felt them!
